One of the biggest joys of being a parent for me is reading bedtime stories.
In part it’s because our kids are such enthusiastic readers. But in truth it’s also because it’s an opportunity to re-read stories from my childhood – Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton, Dr Seuss – as well as enjoying modern-day classics such as the books of Julia Donaldson, David Walliams and, of course, J K Rowling, whose first Harry Potter book celebrated its 20th birthday last week.
So what better way to celebrate the simple pleasure of reading with our kids than another musical parody? And it’s about time I tackled a Lady Gaga song too. So here goes with my version of her 2011 hit The Edge of Glory.
