I’m at Camp Bestival this weekend, where Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim will be seeing in his birthday (he turns 53 tomorrow) with a live set. So who better to feature for this week’s Saturday song?
The track comes from the quadruple platinum-selling album You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby. It reached number two in the UK singles chart in the spring of 1999.
If you’re aged 30 or over, there’s a good chance it will feature on your list of all-time top dance songs. With its irresistibly catchy big beat hook, I’ll certainly be dancing along to it tonight on what is sure to be one of the musical highlights of the festival.

Norman Cook’s middle name is Quentin, a nod to his birth name Quentin Leo Cook. He’s married to the TV and radio presenter Zoe Ball, the daughter of children’s TV presenter Johnny Ball.
He has topped the UK singles chart in three guises: as a member of The Housemartins (Caravan Of Love, 1986), with Beats International (Dub Be Good To Me, 1990) and as Fatboy Slim (Praise You, 1999).
This song’s lyrical refrain “right here, right now” is a sample of actress Angela Bassett’s voice taken from the film Strange Days.
The song’s underlying string melody is sampled from the 1970 James Gang song Ashes, the Rain & I.
