Every week a fellow blogger joins me to talk about one of their favourite posts and then reads it in their own voice. It’s as simple as that: bite-sized chunks of blogging brilliance!
This week’s guest is the fabulous Jess from the blog Wry Mummy, winner of the Family category at this year’s BritMums Brilliance in Blogging awards.
Jess is reading not one but two posts. The first, The Shouting Bra and the Pants of Power is about an idea for commanding respect from her kids while the second, If, for mums, is a mother’s take on Rudyard Kipling’s famous poem.

This week I’m going to try something a little bit different in two respects.
Firstly, instead of reading an old post I’m giving you lucky listeners a sneak preview of a new post that won’t be published for another five weeks.
And secondly, in the spirit of Jess’s reimagining of If, I have murdered rewritten the lyrics of one of pop music’s most iconic songs (which celebrates its 40th anniversary next month) and murdered performed it myself, karaoke-style. I call it Thatcham Rhapsody.
Trust me that this is not false modesty when I say that I’m really not a singer, so you will probably want to listen with headphones on. Or, at the very least, out of earshot of other people. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
