They’re more the Thatcham Three than the Famous Five or the Secret Seven or (obscure TV reference alert) The Red Hand Gang, but our three children are quite the little crew.

Even though they’re individually very different and they do have their moments of squabbling, as any siblings will do, they’re nonetheless close as a threesome. They watch TV together. They draw and paint together. And they love being out on their bikes and scooters together, whether it is playing with the neighbours’ kids in our close or heading in to town together for our regular weekend trip to Costa, as they were in this photo.

They may not have the same adventures as Julian, Dick, George, Anne and Timmy, but they are most definitely a little gang all on their own. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

By the way, if The Red Hand Gang rings a vague bell – and it will probably only mean something to you if you’re in your late 30s or older – this may serve as a reminder.
