For someone who ordinarily looks forward to big social and networking events about as much as the average person looks forward to root canal surgery, I thoroughly enjoyed my two days at BritMums Live.

More on that in a later post. But suffice to say I met a whole load of new people, some of whom I have come to know via their blogs, while others were new to me.

One of the (many) highlights of the two days was attending the Brilliance in Blogging awards ceremony on Friday evening. I wasn’t shortlisted for any awards (boo! hiss!) but I had the privilege of sharing a table with fellow dads Darren (One Dad 3 Girls), John (Dad Blog UK) and Julian (Northern Dad), each of whom was a finalist in, respectively, the Social Media, Family and Writer categories – with Julian walking away with the gong for Best Writer.

I guess that makes me some kind of fanboy groupie, doesn’t it? Heh.
