We were indeed! We were heading into central London. One of our friends had won a private pod on the London Eye and had invited some of her son’s friends to help celebrate his birthday on it. It was a grey, wet morning but it was still fantastic – the kids loved being able to see all across London.

Where are you all off to? No seats left for you?

Off to the Eye (see my response to Lauren’s comment above). There were plenty of seats on our tube train but the boys fancied perching up on those end seats instead of sitting with the rest of us.

We did. We only go into London a few times a year so a journey on the tube is always a cause for excitement.

They were SO excited at the prospect of going on the tube. Better still, we finished the day at the front of the top deck of a double decker bus, going up Regent Street and Oxford Street to see the Christmas lights. A good day!

They are indeed, Mel. We only take them in to London a few times a year, so the tube and buses are always hotly anticipated.

So cute! Looks like a real adventure for them! We go to London so rarely that I always take pics of my kids on the tube.

We’re much the same, Sarah. We often drive in to the outskirts to see my parents, but trips into central London are still enough of a rarity to be a big adventure.

Not too bad, Darren. It’s quite a long way in from where we get on, but we’ve learned to ensure we bring snacks and plenty of distractions to help pass the time.

I haven’t ever taken my boys into Central London but I’m desperate to introduce them to the wonders of my home city! Unfortunately the husband isn’t quite so keen on London full stop. Your boys look a little bit excited! #silentsunday
